A motorbike ride away from Boudha is Patan. Its original Sanskrit name of Lalitpur (City of Beauty) is a city full of sacred and historic temples, statues, palaces and home to one of the three Durbar Squares. As a traditional center of handicrafts it is the numero uno place to get statues, trinkets and some good eats.

A compact city with a historic small central area. Mostly inhabited by the Newar people, the original inhabitants of the Valley who are fiercely protective of their culture and traditions. We have many friends here, mostly school teachers in small poor government schools.
